Teqball Equipment

As per the official rules of teqball, the game is played on a 9.84 ft x 4.92 ft (3 x 1.5-metre) curved table that is split into two halves. Here are the FITEQ recognized TEQ tables. Make sure you purchase a TEQ table that best fits your needs.

TEQ ONE

The TEQ ONE table is a revolutionary piece of sports equipment. It is the original teqball table which was researched, designed, and tested over a two-year period before it was released to the market.

This solid design minimizes the luck associated with the game, and the strength of its net allows the ball to bounce off it.

It is designed to remain in one place, which makes it the sturdiest and most suitable for major competitions.

TEQ SMART

The TEQ SMART table is an advanced, foldable version of the TEQ ONE table. It consists of all the properties of TEQ ONE but also has multiple other benefits which make it a much-desired version of the original teqball table.

It is the perfect table for training, as it has the added advantage of being easy to move to any location, indoor or outdoor. This is made possible through the addition of lockable wheels and the table's foldable structure, which also allows one side of the table to be used as a rebound wall to play and practice against.

TEQ LITE

Thanks to its lighter structure, the third member of the innovative teq table family is a real game changer. The LITE maintains key features of the SMART table in that it can be easily folded for storage, taking up minimal space, and transported thanks to its wheels.

TEQ LITE accelerates the spread of teqsports, and it will attract more and more people around the world to try their teq-skills as it is more affordable for conventional users.

The long-expected table was revealed by the famous Brazilian football player Ronaldinho at the 2019 Teqball World Championship.

TEQ X

TEQ X table is the newest addition to the teqball family and is intended to grow the teq family even bigger. This newly added table follows the same formula as the original TEQ ONE, with the same iconic shape, fixed structure and easy assemblability, but at a more accessible price.

Teqball Ball

Teqball can be played with balls used in football, with size 5 being official and recommended.

The teqball ball, usually white and orange, weighs about 13.4 oz and is spherical with a circumference of 27 to 28 inches as per rules and regulations.

How Many People Can Play Teqball?

Teqball can be played by two players (singles game), by four players (doubles game) or even by several more players like the ‘Round-the-table’ game in Ping Pong.

You can also use a TEQ SMART table if you want to use the game to practice your skills alone.

Teqball is as versatile as you are.

The Main Rules of Teqball

First, the rules of teqball are different (although mostly similar) for singles matches and doubles matches. But before we go over that stuff, let’s review some of the general teqball rules and regulations that apply to all teqball before we learn how to play it for singles and doubles.

These are the general rules for playing teqball:

  • Each player/team is allowed to return the ball with a maximum of three touches with any part of the body, except for hands and arms
  • While playing, neither the table nor the opponent can be touched
  • The ball cannot be touched and returned by the same body part consecutively
  • In teqball the luck factor is eliminated, so always the better player wins. For example, in the case of an edgeball, the rally is always repeated.

How to win in teqball?

Teqball follows a points-based scoring format and is played over a best-of-three-sets, with each set played until a player/team reaches 12 points. You win a point by landing the ball on your opponent’s side of the teqball table without them returning it. The final decisive set must be won by at least a two-point margin.

Serving

Each player/team has two attempts to serve and send the ball to the other side of the table. The players/teams change service after every four points.

To serve the ball, stand behind the table and kick the ball so that it lands on your opponent’s side of the table.

Specific rules for doubles

In doubles, a team has a maximum of 3 touches, however, both players on the team must touch the ball before it is returned.

Only the receiving player can touch the ball first after a service. If the non-receiving player touches the ball first after a service, a point is awarded to the serving player/team.

Final Words

Teqball is a fast, fun game to learn and play. These rules make this sport tremendously spectacular and suitable for even professional football teams for training purposes.

Give it a try and see how good your teq-skills are.
